We borrowed this buzz word and hope that you also make your visit to China an “ecotour”. Particularly, we have made three suggestions. They are both easy to implement and will help enrich your travel experience:
Small group, authentic experience
Share travel experiences with a group of 4-6 people, both your friends and local buddies; this gives you more flexibility and a great opportunity to meet new people and see China through the eyes of Chinese.
Get a bicycle
The most environmental-friendly method to transport (if not walking).
Beijing is very flat, and biking on the bicycle lanes or ancient hutong alleyways is an ideal way to see the city.
